Film Output Without the Bullshit.

FabRIP is a practical screen-print film-output system being developed for real production use.

The goal is simple: take print-ready artwork from programs such as Photoshop or Illustrator, output through a straightforward RIP/PostScript workflow, and produce dense, accurate films without unnecessary complexity.

FabRIP is being developed first around the printers and workflow I actually use, beginning with the Epson SureColor P800, with additional screen-print film printers added as they are tested.

Phase One is focused on:

  • PDF / PostScript film output
  • Screen-print halftones
  • Film-positive printing
  • Registration marks
  • Size, position, and output controls
  • Reliable, repeatable film production

No automatic color separations. No bloated production suite. Just the tools needed to get artwork onto film and onto the press.
