Companion Poem
The Poet Mr Fab
The deepest truths seldom arrive as revelations
They linger in the unnoticed curve of a leaf
What is essential rarely enters through the front door
It gathers quietly where attention forgets to announce itself
The smallest vein remembers the river
The smallest leaf keeps faith with the forest
Nothing arrives alone
Even stillness travels through hidden branches
The gold remembers what the blossom need not
The blossom remembers what the bone cannot carry
Between them a pattern too delicate to command
too patient to disappear
No thread claims to weave the whole
Each simply inclines toward a center
that never asks to be seen
Some call it chance, some, design
The filigree offers nothing to believe
Only another place to notice
